The study of residential urban multi-story buildings focuses on the examination of the façade element. Various façade components - such as glazing, shading devices, balconies and conservatories (sunrooms) - were examined and related to their effect on energy use.

In order to achieve a uniform energy use among the different floor levels, a pattern of differentiation of the façade components is applied. The project is a continued attempt in establishing a balance between daylight availability and thermal comfort thus reducing the energy demand.
